Commonly Asked Questions:

Q: Are SCD cuffs considered a DME product?

A: Yes they are. Pneumatic compression devices and sleeves appear on the CMS web site classified under DME which is to be billed under HCPCS codes.

Q: Why can't our facility bill SCD products?

A: Generally your facility cannot bill DME products to insurance carriers due to your insurance contracts that contain either global fees, DRG's or that your facility is a part A provider. As a licensed DME provider we fall outside of the global fees and DRG's.

Q: Is it legal for you to bill SCD in our facility?

A: Bridge Orthopedic Solutions will act as a contracted vendor to your facility providing SCD products to you patients and since the facility will not have financial interest in the program, no anti kickback laws will apply. This is a convenient and cost effective way for your patients to get the SCD products prescribed by the surgeons to aid in their patients recovery.

Q: Will my patients be balance billed?

A: Whether we are in network or out of network we simply accept 100% of what the insurance reimburses.  Bridge has a strict policy of compliance with all federal and state agencies as well as the False Claims Act.

Q: What about Stark Laws or Anti Kickback Laws?

A: Both laws deal with physician self referral and since no doctor for facility will have a financial interest in the products or Bridge Orthopedic Solutions these laws do not apply. Compensation will never be paid to the doctors or facility in association with this program.
